The Blue Tangerine Horsebox Café is just that! A horse box, lovingly converted in to a mobile café, operated by our pupils from the federation of schools.
Its main aim is not only to encompass the federation’s mission to improve perceptions of children and young people with Special Educational Needs, but to also provide the young people with transferrable and employable skills that will enable them to access opportunities once they enter our mainstream world of work.
The café is run by the young people who attend one of the schools within The Blue Tangerine Federation. They gain accredited qualifications in Barista Training and Food Hygiene. On top of their qualifications they are given hands on experience to encourage independence, gain confidence in communication and reinforce their functional literacy and numeracy skills.
